HOW DOES WORKING IN JAPAN FEEL?
Many foreign people coming from different parts of the world to work in Japan, turn to English teaching as one of their first options. The need for English teachers (especially native speakers) has increased year by year. Due to the very strict competition to get the best Native English teachers, a number of companies have gone overseas to do lots of recruit.

Education may be one of the easiest fields to get in, but other professional fields have also opened for foreigners. These include IT, translation, modeling and entertainment. Though some foreign companies in Japan donft require their applicants to speak Japanese, having the skill would obviously be a huge advantage over other applicants who canft understand the Japanese Language. But donft forget that as it is in other languages, there is a formal and informal way of speaking. You may pick up lots of Japanese words and expressions when hanging out with some Japanese friends in a bar or restaurant, but being able to communicate with this way of speaking won't get you through a formal job interview. So studying formal Japanese is also a big ingredient in increasing your chances of finding a job in Japan.

Foreigners aspiring to work in Japan are required to have a proper working visa in order to be able to work. Working in Japan without the proper visa is completely prohibited. So people who come here holding tourist visas are not allowed to work unless they change the status of their visas. Changing the status of residence has also become a common practice. For example, most foreigners coming from English speaking countries can change their status from being a tourist to an English teacher. Another example is foreign students studying in Japan as college students can also opt to apply for jobs and then change their visa status.
