JAPAN LIFE : VISA |
| |
For foreigners desiring to earn money in Japan, working with a tourist visa wouldnft be any help. A proper working visa is required for a foreigner to engage in anything that involves money. It is prohibited to work with a tourist visa and the penalties that go with it are enormous if caught working without going through the right visa processing. |

Different types of visas appropriate for each field are available for every qualified foreigner. Some of these would allow you to be able to work in Japan but is limited to the specific field indicated in the visa. A concrete example would be a person holding an engineer visa being able to work in a software developing company but is not allowed to work as an English teacher or entertainer. |

An exception to this are the permanent residents and spouse visa holders. These types of visas have no limitations. They are allowed to work in any field, anytime. Another type of visa that has some special requirements is the student and dependent visas. Dependent visa holders are foreigners who have family members working in Japan. Both student and dependent visas require a permit from the immigration office allowing them to engage in part time jobs with a limited number of working hours per week. People from some countries are given working holiday visas, which allow them to come to Japan and engage in any professional field. Citizens of Korea, Canada, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand can apply this type of visa. |
